L’Histoire -Draft-
Lemare a cris.
Jerry a rassure.
“Merci, Monsieur!” Lemare a remercie.
Jerry Springer a crie.
Jerry a accuse.
“M’ARETE! C’EST ICI! Mais...pourquot?”
“Tu a du manger l’arete quand tu dormait!” Jerry a explique.

The Plant Project: Final Lab Report
Our goals were to get all three plants (the carnations, the daisies and the radishes) to grow to a decent height, and be able to add food coloring to the water we gave them so that they would turn different colors. We were hoping that the radishes would mature enough to be able to see, as well as the carnations and the daises (have them possibly bloom). Unfortunatley, they didn’t mature fast enough (all of them needed around six to eight weeks), not because we don’t think they didn’t have enough time, but also just because the enviorment wasn’t the best for them to grow in. Also, the radishes needed way more care than we expected, so we weren’t able to add the food coloring, and even if we did, we wouldn’t have been able to see anything. We were also hopign to get into other variables such as testing light source and different types of water, aside from the colored water.
One of our main hypothesis was that we believed that the radished would gather the most color, because it’s a root, and it would gather more of the color and nutrience directly. Also, because it’s supposed to sprout faster, because it’s would feeds the rest of the plant. Another one of our hypothesis was that the carnations would be easiest to grow, becuase they didn’t need as much care as the radishes and the daisies. The daises would be second, and the radishes and obviously third (because they needed to have their roots pulled and managed more), and the daisies constantly needed just the right amount of wetness in their soil.
With the initial planting, our procedure was to 1) add water from watering pail (enough so that the Jiffy Plant Starter pellets would expand to their biggest size, 2) place each seed (may be up to three or four for carnations and daisies, but only one or two for radishes) in the Jiffy Plant Started soil, 3) take plants out to greenhouse to grow. For managing the plants, each plant needed soem specific care. For the carnations, we needed to make sure that they stayed in a colder climate than the others (which we thought would be perfect seeing how Washington is usually colder, or at least cold enough for carnations to grow in), and they didn’t need to be fed or watered as regularly as the other plants, but they did need to be plucked once an a while as they bloom (but they never matured enough to bloom). For the daisies, we needed to be sure that the soil was just the right amount of wetness, and that they got just the right amout of light (so they had to be slightly covered). For the radishes, we had to be sure that the soil was always firm, and slightly wet, so as the soil could support the roots, and we had to slightly pull the roots once they one-ich across. On April 19th, about 4 months into the experiment, we transplanted the less mature of the plants, so as we could hope that the stronger ones would be better for the experiments and the others could be used as variable for light and water source. With the transplanting, we took off the mesh around the pellets that contained the plants, evry carefully, so as we wouldn’t pull the plants or the pellet apart. After, we put about three pellets in each small pot, and covered the holes inbetween them with soil and pacted it together, ebing sure not to smash thenplants or the roots. Then, we were sure to pluck off any dead leaves, so as to keep the plant healthier and better looking. And lastly, we took the plants outside near the Tarrier House, and placed them near an area where there would be a little less light, so that the daisies would be happier.
“Observations and Data Attached”. We basically found out that we didn’t take the best care of our plants. One survived till the last week, but most survived till around the beginning and middle of May. The radish leaves grew to about five inches; the carnations grew to be about four inches; and the daisies grew to be about three to four inches. By taking the carnations outside, we forgot about the climate change, and thinking it would be cold enough for them to survive, but really, April/May became too hot for the carnations to survive, so they died around first. The daisies outside probably got too much light as well, and we should’ve put something over them, whereas the radishes just needed more care than we expected and weren’t watered enough. We attemtped checking up on them more often, but got confused as to who was checking when and their were issues with watering outside. The plants weren’t able to mature enough for us to do any kind of experiments on them, like trying out putting food coloring in their water and watching them change colors, but we were able to experiment a little with the water usage and the effects of the lighting/climate by putting soem plants outside and leaving soem in the greenhouse. the plants grew fairly well otherwise, but next time, we’ll be sure to take better care of them so as to help them mature faster.
In conclusion, we weren’t able to determine whether one of our hypothesis was correct or not. We were able to determine that the carnations were easier to take care of, but the weather became a little unexpected, and we thought they could still do fine in the nicer weather. But the plants didn’t mature enough for us to try to food coloring experiment, so we weren’t able to determine whetehr or not the radishes would’ve been the ones to gather the most color. If we could change anything in the future, we would change how well we take care of the plants, so as the plants would amture faster. Also, it would probably be better to plant the plants during the spring, so as to see them bloom, and actually be able to see any color if it was added. And also, possibly try not planting any plants that would be harder to take care of, or need different climates form the other ones.
